Technology companies went remote first and are quietly heavy users of point-to-point aviation, which looks like a contradiction until you look at what the travel is for. It is not commuting to an office. It is reaching the customer site, the fab, the acquisition target, or the contract manufacturer — none of which can be visited over a video call.
Semiconductor work makes this concrete. Fabs are in Boise, Hillsboro, Austin, Phoenix, and increasingly Columbus and Syracuse. Qualification, yield work, and equipment installs happen on production schedules, and the people doing them are the small number of engineers who can.
Enterprise software has a different version: an escalation at a large customer, where a partner and two engineers in the room on Tuesday resolves something that three weeks of calls would not. The travel cost is trivial against the contract value and against the alternative.
The geography is unhelpful. The Bay Area to Boise, Portland to Phoenix, Austin to Dallas — these are pairs where the airline options exist but consume a day, and where a same-day round trip changes what is possible.

Which technology markets do you serve?
The San Francisco Bay Area, Austin, Boise, Portland, Phoenix-Scottsdale, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Boston, Orange County, Columbus, and Raleigh-Durham. Note that the West Coast markets are far apart, so the same-day band there is smaller than in the East.
Can I work in flight?
The cabin is pressurised and quiet enough for reading and laptop work, and it is private. It is a small cabin rather than a conference room — realistic expectations here are better than a sales pitch.
Can you fly Bay Area to Seattle or Los Angeles?
San Jose to Seattle is beyond the 700 nm band we publish, so it is not in the network as a same-day product. The aircraft is capable of it — book range is 1,275 nm — and we will quote it on request, but it is an overnight trip rather than a day trip and we would rather say so.
